The MAXUS eDELIVER 5: The next generation of vans

  • Fully electric panel van based on the new MILA platform
  • Up to 7.7 cubic metres load volume and 1,190 kg payload*
  • 120 kW/163 hp electric drive and 64 kWh high-voltage battery

Köln/Kontich, 28 June 2024 - One model, two premieres: With the MAXUS eDELIVER 5, the Chinese brand is ushering in a new era. The latest electric van, which will celebrate its official German premiere at this year's IAA Transportation in Hanover (17 to 22 September 2024), is the first model to be based on the MILA platform. The modular, intelligent and lightweight architecture sets new standards - in terms of loading volume and payload as well as comfort, connectivity, driving behaviour and energy efficiency.

The eDELIVER 5, which is available in two lengths, is a versatility artist: the compact panel van closes the gap between the small eDELIVER 3 and its two larger counterparts, the eDELIVER 7 and eDELIVER 9. The single cab available at market launch can accommodate up to three people, with a double cab to follow at a later date.

As an L1 model, the van offers a load volume of 6.6 cubic metres, which increases to 7.7 cubic metres* in the 5.25 metre long L2 variant. The maximum payload is 1,190 kilograms* (L2 with three seats). If that's not enough, both variants can carry up to

1,500 kilograms (permissible trailer load braked) - a top value in this vehicle class, which is appreciated by many tradespeople from a wide range of industries.

The load compartment is a good 2.65 metres (L1) or 3.10 metres* (L2) long and has a width of 1.25 metres between the wheel arches - so a Euro pallet fits easily. A through-loading hatch also allows longer materials to be transported. Two wing doors at the rear that open at a 180-degree angle and two side sliding doors, together with the low loading sill, simplify access.

Powerful e-drive, high-performance battery

At the heart of the eDELIVER 5 is a 120 kW/163 hp electric motor that develops 240 Nm of torque right from the start. The compact unit takes up little engine space, which is reflected in one of the shortest front overhangs in its class at 650 millimetres.

The power consumption is 21.0 kWh per 100 kilometres (L1 - WLTP combined). The drive is combined with a 64 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery: this enables the electric van to cover up to 335 kilometres (WLTP combined) per battery charge, and in urban areas up to

489 kilometres possible. The subsequent charging stop only takes 42 minutes at 70 kW fast-charging stations, while the company's own wallbox allows convenient overnight charging at 11 kW.

The high-voltage battery has what is known as a CTP structure, in which the battery cell is integrated directly into the battery pack. This makes the battery around ten centimetres thinner than conventional battery packs. The standard liquid-based cooling/heating system ensures the optimum operating temperature. The MAXUS battery warranty offers additional security for eight years or 200,000 kilometres.

Striking design, networked cockpit

The design language of the "rounded rectangle" not only gives the panel van a clean, professional image, but also improves efficiency and aerodynamic drag.

The networked interior features a digital instrument display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen, which acts as a central control element for the multimedia system and the smartphone integrated via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, among other things. Safety is ensured by a comprehensive arsenal of advanced assistance systems.

Further details on the equipment, market launch and prices of the MAXUS eDELIVER 5 will be presented at the IAA Transportation.

About MAXUS-Deutschland

The MAXUS brand

The MAXUS brand, which specialises in electric vehicles, belongs to the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), one of China's largest automotive groups with almost 100,000 employees worldwide. The company produces around seven million cars and commercial vehicles a year for the domestic market and for export. In addition to sales and production, SAIC is also responsible for research and development as well as design. MAXUS (formerly LDV) has also been one of the Group's various brands since 2010. SAIC has invested the equivalent of more than two billion euros in the company, which specialises in commercial vehicles, to improve safety, innovations and drive technology and to expand the model range. The name ‘MAXUS’ is made up of the two syllables ‘MAX’ and ‘US’: The former refers to spaciousness and unlimited possibilities, the latter to accessibility for as many users as possible (‘us’).

The importer

Maxomotive Deutschland GmbH has been the importer of MAXUS vehicles for the German market since 2020. Maxomotive Deutschland GmbH is based in Cologne and manages its dealer network from there.
