MAXUS eDELIVER 5 starts from 38,990 euros net

Cologne, 22 October 2024 - ​ The new MAXUS eDELIVER 5 is now on the road at prices starting from €38,990 net (RRP plus 19% VAT): the versatile electric van is the first model from the Chinese commercial vehicle specialist to be based on the MILA platform. The modular, intelligent and lightweight architecture sets new standards in terms of load volume, payload, comfort and driving behaviour.

Available in two lengths, the eDELIVER 5 closes the gap between the small eDELIVER 3 and its two larger counterparts, the eDELIVER 7 and eDELIVER 9. The single cab available at market launch can accommodate up to three people, with a double cab to follow at a later date.

As a 4.80 metre long L1 model, the Transporter offers a load volume of 6.6 cubic metres, which increases to 7.7 cubic metres in the 5.25 metre long L2 variant (surcharge: 1,000 euros net). The maximum payload is 1,190 kilograms (L2). If that's not enough, both variants can tow up to 1,500 kilograms (permissible trailer load braked) - a top value in this vehicle class that will be appreciated by many tradespeople from a wide range of industries.

The load compartment is a good 2.65 metres (L1) or 3.04 metres (L2) long and has a width of 1.25 metres between the wheel arches - so a Euro pallet fits easily. A through-loading hatch also allows longer materials to be transported. Two wing doors at the rear that open at a 180-degree angle and two side sliding doors, together with the low loading sill, simplify access.

Powerful electric drive with long-range battery

At the heart of the eDELIVER 5 is a 120 kW/163 hp electric motor that develops 240 Nm of torque. The compact unit takes up little engine space, which is reflected in one of the shortest front overhangs in its class at 650 millimetres.

The drive is combined with a 64 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery: this enables the electric van to cover up to 335 kilometres (WLTP combined) per charge, and even up to 489 kilometres in urban areas. The subsequent charging stop at 70 kW fast-charging stations takes just 42 minutes (from ten to 80 per cent), while the company's own wallbox provides convenient overnight charging at 11 kW.

The high-voltage battery has what is known as a CTP structure, in which the battery cell is integrated directly into the battery pack. This makes the battery around ten centimetres thinner than conventional battery packs. The standard liquid-based cooling/heating system also ensures an optimum operating temperature.

The design language of the "rounded rectangle" not only gives the panel van a clean, professional image, but also improves efficiency and aerodynamic drag - and thus the range.

Fully equipped and top Euro NCAP rating

Regardless of the selected length, LED headlights, heated front seats, air conditioning, electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, an electric parking brake and a 360-degree camera are all on board. It facilitates parking and manoeuvring in the smallest of spaces - also ideal when towing a trailer. The networked interior features a digital instrument display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen, which acts as the central control element for the multimedia system and the smartphone connected via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, among other things.

Safety and comfort are ensured by an adaptive cruise control system, a lane departure warning system and a lane departure warning system, a forward collision warning system, a traffic sign recognition system, an attention and drowsiness warning system and a high beam assistant, which automatically switches between low and high beam to ensure the best possible visibility.

Road illumination guaranteed. This comprehensive safety arsenal has earned the panel van the Platinum Medal and thus the highest award from the independent testing organisation Euro NCAP. The comprehensive warranties also contribute to worry-free mobility: In addition to a five-year warranty on the vehicle (up to 100,000 kilometres), MAXUS provides an eight year warranty on the high-voltage battery - and that even up to 200,000 kilometres.

The short list of options at market launch only includes a metallic paint finish (surcharge: 650 euros net). The first MAXUS eDELIVER 5 vehicles will be rolling out to MAXUS dealers in Germany at the end of November.
