Excellent protection:MAXUS vans with top marks from Euro NCAP

  • Independent testing organisation confirms high safety level
  • New MAXUS eDELIVER 5 receives Platinum award
  • "Gold" for the larger eDELIVER 7 and eDELIVER 9 panel vans

Köln/Kontich, 5 July 2024 - Drivers are on the safe side with MAXUS vans: the Chinese brand's panel vans have now been awarded top marks by Euro NCAP. The new eDELIVER 5, which will be rolling into Germany for the first time later this year on the completely new MILA platform, has been awarded the top "Platinum" rating. Its larger siblings, the eDELIVER 7 and eDELIVER 9, which, like the more compact model, have an electric drive, as well as their diesel offshoots, have been awarded the "Platinum" rating by the independent testing organisation."Gold" medal.

While Euro NCAP awards stars for passenger car models, there are medals for light commercial vehicles (LCVs) - from bronze to platinum: the large MAXUS vans impress with top performances in the current round of tests. Even before its market launch, for example, the eDELIVER 5, which is based on a modular, intelligent and lightweight architecture (MILA) and will make its debut at the IAA Transportation in Hanover (17 to 22 September 2024), was awarded the"Platinum" rating. With 82 per cent of the possible points, the electric van, which is available in two lengths, is in the top group of the 26 LCVs assessed by Euro NCAP.

The larger eDELIVER 7, which is currently being rolled out to MAXUS partners, is only just behind with 77 per cent. The eDELIVER 9 and its diesel counterpart DELIVER 9 achieved 74 per cent. The testers particularly praised the standard emergency braking system in all of the brand's models, which not only reliably recognises cars and cyclists, but also pedestrians. The "Occupant Status" category, which includes seatbelt reminders and various assistance systems such as the drowsiness warning system, which also comes as standard in the MAXUS, also received top marks. Lane departure warning and the lane change assistant also contributes to the top score: it reliably supports the driver and thus prevents accidents and dangers before they even occur.

"MAXUS does not make any compromises - especially not with LCVs. Even in a particularly price-sensitive segment, we offer customers an excellent level of safety. A broad arsenal of active and passive safety systems protects the users of our large panel vans in everyday life," explains Gerald Lautenschläger, Managing Director of MAXUS importer Maxomotive Deutschland GmbH. "I am delighted that Euro NCAP, as an independent testing organisation, has now confirmed this with top marks."

In addition to the extensive safety features, eDELIVER customers benefit from significantly lower maintenance and service costs compared to conventionally powered commercial vehicles thanks to the low-maintenance electric drive. The comprehensive manufacturer warranties offer additional safety and worry-free mobility: In addition to the familiar vehicle warranty of five years or 100,000 kilometres, MAXUS provides extended protection for the high-voltage battery for up to eight years or 250,000 kilometres*.

About MAXUS-Deutschland

The MAXUS brand

The MAXUS brand, which specialises in electric vehicles, belongs to the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), one of China's largest automotive groups with almost 100,000 employees worldwide. The company produces around seven million cars and commercial vehicles a year for the domestic market and for export. In addition to sales and production, SAIC is also responsible for research and development as well as design. MAXUS (formerly LDV) has also been one of the Group's various brands since 2010. SAIC has invested the equivalent of more than two billion euros in the company, which specialises in commercial vehicles, to improve safety, innovations and drive technology and to expand the model range. The name ‘MAXUS’ is made up of the two syllables ‘MAX’ and ‘US’: The former refers to spaciousness and unlimited possibilities, the latter to accessibility for as many users as possible (‘us’).

Maxomotive Deutschland GmbH has been the importer of MAXUS vehicles for the German market since 2020. Maxomotive Deutschland GmbH is based in Cologne and manages its dealer network from there.
